Mel is the Founder and Creative Director of Unique Wedding Flowers. Her journey began with owning a boutique florist before she made her foray into television, working as the head wedding florist on the hugely successful Married At First Sight (MAFS).
In turn, she became The Art Director for the hit show for a couple of years.
During her time on the show, she learnt to hone her skills to create visually stunning floral arrangements. This diversification allowed her to bring a unique perspective to every project, infusing creativity and sophistication into the stunning weddings shown on MAFS. She also found a love for flowers and began transforming spaces into a floral wonderland.

Despite occasionally still working with MAFS when required, Mel has been channelling her expertise into her new venture, Bluegum Flower Farm, located in Crabbes Creek, near Bryon Bay, Australia.
The project involves her growing beautiful blooms and supplying them for weddings and events in the Northern Rivers—from Tweed Heads, Byron Bay, to the Gold Coast.
Here, she applies her expertise to growing exquisite blooms tailored for weddings and local florists.
It allows her to share her love for flowers, ensuring each blossom is a testament to her years of experience and commitment to the craft.
With a firm belief in the language of flowers, she continues to weave stories through her arrangements, adding a touch of magic to every occasion.
She says the secrets to creating a beautiful wedding bouquet for a beaming bride are: “Knowing what types of flowers complement each other and having the knowledge and experience to create masterpieces.”
